Here is the latest information on the 2023 Graduation:

The Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, May 21st, at 2pm.

  • Class Colors: Royal Blue and Gold
  • Class Flower: Forget-Me-Nots

Doors will open for Ticket Holders only at 12:00pm

  • Seniors can pick up their tickets from Mrs. Teply in Student Services starting Monday, May 8th 
  • Students will be able to pick up 12 tickets at this time
  • Individuals who have a ticket will be able to enter the gym before the general public to get the better seating
  • If students need more than 12 tickets, extra tickets will be available after graduation rehearsal on May 19th.

Doors will open to the rest of the public at 1:00pm

The APS Foundation is sponsoring  and has confirmed Dawn Sahli again to take photos at graduation of each graduate as they receive their diploma. The Foundation will send a photo to each graduate in June welcoming them as CHS Alumni and with information about how to order additional photos.

Senior Checkout

  • Thursday, May 18th - Seniors can pick up their checkout sheet that morning from Mrs. Teply in Student Services
    • Seniors who are Early Grads have already completed Senior Checkout and do not need to come on May 18th.
  • Seniors will only be able to obtain the Assistant Principals signatures from 2pm-4pm in Student Services that day. The rest of the required signatures can be obtained throughout the day.
  • Senior fees MUST be paid prior to the check-out date. If you are unsure if your student has any outstanding fees you may check Parent Portal or contact Mrs. Teply in the Student Services Office at 725-8117.

Senior Breakfast and MANDATORY Graduation Rehearsal will be Friday, May 19th

  • Rehearsal is mandatory for any senior planning to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Seniors who have ordered their Cap and Gown can pick it up on Wednesday, March 29th, from 11:15am-2:15pm. Jostens will be set up outside the CHS Theater to hand out orders.

  • If your senior has not ordered their Cap and Gown yet, and plans to participate in the ceremony, please do so ASAP at www.jostens.com

GRADUATION CAP ADORNMENT - The only approved graduation cap adornment is the Native American beading for Native American students as approved by the SD Legislature.  

  • Please see Mr. Gordon Tree Top Jr., ASD Indian Education Coordinator, for final approval of cap beading.
  • No other decorating of the graduation cap is allowed.
