The Lincoln Light case

There’s something new at Lincoln Elementary School. Can you guess what it is? It’s the Lincoln Lights of the Week! The Lincoln Light of the Week is one student from each class that brings items from home to school to display in a case. This display case is next to Mrs. Gatzemeyer’s office, so when kids pass by to go to class they can see the items. They also get to eat lunch with Mrs. Gatzemeyer at the end of the week. Mrs. Gatzemeyer said, “It makes kids feel like they are seen.” Also it makes kids feel important and like they belong. Are you wondering about when your child gets to be the Lincoln Light of the week? Well, students are being chosen by last name in alphabetical order. The student gets a note one week before they should bring in their items. The note also has the date on it.
