Do you have a chance to participate in any special activities during your free time? Well, there is a 4th grade teacher named Mrs. Phillips who hosts special activities for 4th and 5th graders at Lincoln Elementary. She started groups for children who would like to get an idea of what they want to participate in when they get to middle school. These groups are show choir, aerobics, yoga, and American Sign Language (ASL) . She picked 4th and 5th graders because they share recess times.

Mrs. Phillips wants kids to be helpful, have fun, and stay healthy. She said, “I think it’s important for kids to express themselves creatively where they are interested.” Mrs. Phillips was inspired to start the groups because when she was in middle school and high school she enjoyed participating in these activities. The show choir performed in January at an assembly and ASL may perform at the talent show.
