student council project

Hi, soaring students! We are happy to be at your school. This time in the jungle we will be talking about the history of Student Council. Based on the evidence we found, Student Council has been here at least since 2004-2005. Mrs. Torbert explained, “It has changed over the years. It used to be grades three through five, but now it’s only grades four and five.” We interviewed two student council members to find out exactly why they joined. Addison, a fourth grade class representative said, “I like to help around the school and do different projects.” Hattie, the secretary for Student Council, said “I wanted to do something big in fifth grade.”

We learned Student Council projects can take as little as one meeting to complete, while some can take multiple meetings. For example, a project they do every year is picking and advertising the dress up days for Red Ribbon Week. A second project they are doing this year is swapping the art in the picture frames that are outside the library wall. Student Council is very important and helps out a lot. Have a soaring year Lincoln Elementary students!!!
