Scott Svendsen has been named head football coach for the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles.  He will assume his new duties beginning in August, 2021.  Svendsen will teach physical education at Aberdeen Central High School.

 

Svendsen comes to the Golden Eagles from Alvarado, Texas where he has been the assistant head football coach and offensive coordinator for the Alvarado Indians since 2011.  He is also the head boys track and field coach at Alvarado.

 

Svendsen has coaching experience at a variety of levels in the game of football.  His first coaching job was at Aberdeen Central High School where he comes back home to take the Head Football position.  Svendsen coached in the European Football Leagues in the United Kingdom and he has coached at some prominent programs in the state of Texas like Katy High School, where he helped Katy win two state championships in 2000 and 2003.  He also has had coaching stops at Tyler John Tyler High School and Copperas Cove High School along with some other programs in Texas.  He also has some head coaching experience at various places and he has also helped Team USA to win a gold medal in the American Football Global Games.   Additionally, he has coached in several All-Star football games in the state of Texas. 

 

Scott Svendsen went to high school in Eureka and received his college degree from Northern State University.  Scott is married to Krista (Shepard) and they have two children, Colton who is attending Texas State University and Cale who will be attending Texas Tech University in the fall.
