Nathan Golz and Heidi Golz Scholarship Fund

Aberdeen Central alumni family establishes scholarship fund

Challenging times call for creative solutions.  Nathan and Heidi Golz (both CHS Class of ’99) found an innovative way to mark their 40th birthdays in October of 2020 by establishing a scholarship fund through the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation to provide scholarships for the classmates of their three children.  The Nathan Golz and Heidi Golz Restricted Fund, administered by the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation, will provide college scholarships for the classmates of their children when they are seniors at Aberdeen Central.

“Establishing a scholarship fund for graduates of the Aberdeen Public School District is something we’ve been discussing for about two years,” Heidi Golz said.  “We weren’t sure how to do that easily, but we found the perfect partner with the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation” she added.  “2020 has been a very hard year for many in our community.  We feel very fortunate to do something positive in a year filled with so many negatives” Nathan Golz said.  “This gift will benefit many students from the area and we hope to inspire others to consider the Foundation for gift-giving opportunities in the future.”

“The APS Foundation sincerely appreciates the creative generosity of the Golz family to assist and inspire our students as they further their education,” said Gretchen Sharp, Executive Director of the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation.

As of June 30, 2024, the Golz Restricted Fund balance is over $52,928.
